I will disclose the names of the powerful agency and personalities sponsoring the criminals if the government did not act
Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has said that the government must rid the people of Karachi of the criminal elements involved in collecting extortion money from business persons and incidents of kidnapping for ransom. He warned that he would disclose the names of the persons and the powerful agency supporting and sponsoring the criminals involved in extortion and kidnappings for ransom, if the government failed to act. He said this while talking to the MQM Co-ordination Committee in London and Pakistan.
Mr Hussain said that the knowledgeable people of Karachi, the business community, and the media were well aware about the powerful agency and persons that are supporting the criminals involved in extortion and kidnappings for ransom. He said that the peaceful citizens of Karachi have been left at the mercy of the criminals who were being supported under a deep-rooted conspiracy. The criminals were not only abducting the business persons for demanding huge amount of ransom money but also attacking the houses of the traders with hand grenades if they refuse to pay extortion money.
Mr Hussain said that the present government had also failed miserably in taking action against the criminals who were playing with the lives of business persons and common citizens. It is because of their utter abdication of responsibility that nothing was done against terrorists and criminals of the Lyari gang-war and no one involved in killing of innocent persons was arrested.
Mr Hussain said that he had informed President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, and Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik about the unrestrained activities of the extortion mafia and criminals involved in kidnappings for ransom. He regretted that the high-powered government personalities did not listen to him and did not take any action for delivering the people of Karachi from terrorists of the gang-war.
Mr Hussain warned the people at the helm of affairs that if the powerful institution and personalities did not stop from supporting the criminals involved in collecting extortion and kidnapping for ransom in Karachi, he would disclose their names to the nation.
