GOVERNMENT AND ARMED FORCES MUST JOINTLY TAKE ACTION AGAINST TALIBAN TERRORISTS AND SAVE PAKISTAN – ALTAF HUSSAIN

GOVERNMENT AND ARMED FORCES MUST JOINTLY TAKE ACTION AGAINST TALIBAN TERRORISTS AND SAVE PAKISTAN – ALTAF HUSSAIN
 Posted on: 2/28/2014
MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has warned that before the Taliban terrorists takeover the State, defence institutions, sensitive installations and defence weapons, the Government must formulate a clear policy to rid the country of Taliban terrorists. If the Government has formulated such a policy against the terrorists then the Government and Armed forces should jointly act to eliminate the terrorists and save Pakistan. He was addressing the 27thConvention of Labour Division organised in Karachi over the phone from London. He categorically stated that he is not only against the Martial Law but has also been sentenced by martial law courts for nine months rigorous imprisonment and five lashes. He said that he faced the courts and served his sentence but didn’t request for pardon. He said that he was offered deals but he refused and didn’t sign any pardon plea.

Mr Hussain said that the Taliban terrorists are severing the heads of people and playing football with them, dishonouring the corpses of martyred soldiers, targeting mosques, imam bargahs, schools and killing innocent people including small children, targeting innocent civilians in markets, carrying out bomb explosions and suicide attacks, attacking the sensitive and defence institutions and installations, thus challenging the writ of the State. Taliban terrorists have so far murdered more than 5,000 army men, rangers, FC, Levies, police officers and policemen, and more than 60,000 innocent civilians. He reminded that recently in an interview he had conditionally said that if the present Government is not able to draw out an action plan to deal with the Taliban terrorists, who have occupied various areas of Karachi as well, then he will be compelled to request the Armed Forces to take matters in their hands the State and rid Pakistan of these Taliban terrorists. He asked if these Taliban terrorists occupy the entire country would we be engaged in the same rhetoric to save democracy and hand over State institutions, defence installations and defence weapons to the Taliban? He said that it is easy to talk on the media but if God forbid the Taliban target one’s family member or their homes then they will understand the severity of the situation. If now the Government has formulated a policy to deal with the Taliban's then the Armed Forces and Government should jointly act to eliminate the terrorists and save Pakistan. People sit on media and misguide the nation. These so-called flag bearers of democracy don’t even know the “D” of democracy.

Mr Hussain said that we will not leave the ground and until the MQM exists, it will not let the Taliban take over Pakistan. People must think about the state of affairs of Pakistan, the country is faced with isolation internationally; therefore, we must control our sentiments.

Mr Hussain also referred to the coming program of Sufi Conference to be held in Lahore on 9th March 2014, and appealed to the people of Punjab including students, labourers, writers, journalists, intellectuals, artists, traders, religious scholars, etc to participate in the conference and attend in large numbers.

Mr Hussain narrated in detail the formation of MQM Labour Division and the history of MQM. He also recalled the atrocities and oppression that the MQM had to go through in its struggle for the rights of common people. He lauded the efforts of the workers of Labour Division in the righteous struggle of the MQM and paid tributes to its leaders and workers
