Altaf Hussain has pointed the only way forward for meeting the challenges facing the country: Chaudhry Shujaat
Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee and Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis Dr Farooq Sattar has said that the MQM has always played a positive role for national security and saving the country and it would continue to do so in future as well. The MQM believes that all political and religious parties in the country would have to get united for taking the country out of current crises. He expressed these views while talking to the media persons after holding a meeting with the PML (Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain at his residence.
Dr Sattar briefed media persons about the recent statement of MQM founder and leader Mr Altaf Hussain regarding threats to the national security. He said that the demand for holding a round table conference by the MQM was the need of the hour that cannot be overlooked. The concerns expressed by Mr Hussain would have to be taken with the seriousness they merit lest Pakistan should descend into some more problems.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Shujaat Hussain praised the efforts being made by Mr Altaf Hussain for bringing the country out of the problems. He said that the only way for meeting the national challenges has been pointed at by Mr Hussain. He said that the there were good relations between the PML (Q) and the MQM that could not be broken easily.
The MQM delegation comprised members of the Co-ordination Committee Mr Raza Haroon, Mr Kunwar Naveed Jamil, Mr Wasay Jalil, Mr Aftakhar Akbar Randhawa, Federal Minister for Ports and Shippping Mr Babar Khan Ghouri, members of central executive committee and local office-bearers.The PML (Q) was represented by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Mr Anwer Cheema, Mr Mushahid Hussain Syed and Mr Halim Adil Shaikh.
Earlier the threats facing the country were discussed in the meeting between the two sides in the light of the recent statement of Mr Hussain. The PML (Q) leaders extended their support to the demand for calling a round table conference. They assured that their party would take part in the conference.
