Telephonic conversation between Altaf Hussain and Asif Zardari

Informed the former president about the illegal arrests of MQM workers and subjecting them to inhuman torture in custody
There has been a telephonic conversation between MQM Founder and Leader Mr Altaf Hussain and former president and the co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party Mr Asif Zardari. Both the leaders discussed the law and order situation in Sindh and the inhuman acts committed by the police and the Rangers against the MQM workers.
Mr Hussain informed Mr Zardari about the extra-judicial killings of the MQM workers, illegal arrests and detentions, and subjecting them to barbaric torture in the custody. He told the former president that 45 MQM workers, including three sector members, went missing soon after they were arrested and no one knew anything about their whereabouts.
Mr Hussain said that the law-enforcing agencies were carrying out illegal raids at the houses of the MQM workers. The arrested workers were being asked to disclose information about workers of the Women’s Wing of the party which was very disturbing.
Mr Zardari extended his apologies on the inhuman actions of the police and said he would ask Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take action against the police personnel involved in such brutal and inhuman acts. He said that everyone living in Sindh is a Sindhi and they must work together for the progress and prosperity of the province.
