I personally called Chief Minister Sindh, the DG Rangers and other high government functionaries but no one cared to respond
The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain has paid tribute to the people of Pakistan, particularly the people of Sindh, for observing a highly successful Day of Mourning on the extra-judicial killing of MQM worker Salman Nooruddin. He thanked the people for offering recitations of the Holy Quran and prayers for the MQM martyrs.
Mr Hussain demanded the authorities to hold a judicial inquiry into the extra-judicial killing of Salman Nooruddin and other innocent workers of the MQM. He said that the officials of police and law-enforcing agencies under whose instructions the MQM workers have been killed in a brutal manner should be brought to book according to the law. He said that injustices and oppression must end.
Mr Hussain said he wanted to bring it to public knowledge with great sorrow that he had personally telephoned Chief Minister Sindh, the DG Rangers Sindh and other high-ranking officials to inform them about the details of the tragic killing of Salman Nooruddin but no one cared to respond. He said that if the officials of the law-enforcing agencies and other government functionaries who were accountable to public continued to neglect their duties, then the future of Pakistan can be well-imagined.
Mr Hussain thanked business community, transporters, petrol pump and CNG station owners and other people belonging to various walks of life for voluntarily suspending their activities on the extra-judicial killing of Salman and other workers of the MQM. He praised them for registering their strong protest in a peaceful manner.
