The MQM respects the freedom of press and media but rejects media trial as yellow journalism

A seven-member delegation of Muttahida Quami Movement comprising members of the Co-ordination Committee and parliamentarians met the Deputy High Commissioner of the United Kingdom in Karachi Mr John Tucknott and presented a memorandum in the form of letter addressed to the British Prime Minister Mr David Cameron.
The memorandum says that the BBC had broadcast a malicious news report about the MQM and its Founder and Leader Mr Altaf Hussain which had hurt the feelings of millions of people.
The MQM delegation included Deputy Convener of the Co-ordination Committee Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, member of the Co-ordination Committee and parliamentary group leader of the MQM in the National Assembly Dr Farooq Sattar, Senator Nasreen Jalil, Senator Barrister Farogh Nasim, Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Syed Faisal Sabzwari, parliamentary leader of the MQM in the Sindh Assembly Syed Sardar Ahmed and deputy parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly Khawaja Izharul Hassan.
The MQM delegation said that the MQM believes in the freedom of press and media but it rejects media trial of anyone as yellow journalism. The MQM reserves its democratic, constitutional and legal rights against such journalism.
The delegation said that the BBC had broadcast the second report about the MQM in which the norms of journalism were not maintained thereby hurting the credibility of the BBC.
