Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the incident of firing on the polio team in the city’s Qayumabad area and expressed his deep grief over the loss of three volunteers, including two women.
In a condemnation statement, the MQM chief termed the incident `barbaric’ and urged the government to provide full protection to the volunteers of polio teams as they have been rendering humanitarian service.
He also demanded of Sindh government to immediately apprehend the culprits involved in the heinous crime by laying a siege of Qayyumabad, the locality where the gruesome incident occurred.
Offering his condolences to grieved families, Mr Hussain prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.
He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries in the incident.
