Indecisiveness in dealing with terrorism would increase loss of lives

The Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the massive blast and the targeting of a convoy of security forces in the cantonment area in the Bannu District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province resulting in the martyrdom of 22 personnel and injuries to many others. He said that with the acceptance of responsibility of the blast by the TTP, it had become imperative that rethink the strategy for dealing with militancy and terrorism.
Mr Hussain said that he had been crying hoarse and demanding the federal government and the heads of the armed forces to devise a concrete strategy as indecisiveness would result in civilian casualties besides losses to the armed forces. He said that a decision about holding the negotiations with the Taliban or following any other line of action should be taken without further delay and the nation should be informed about the decision.
Mr Hussain said if the killings of personnel belonging to the armed forces, security forces and police continued in the same manner, it could create a feeling of despondency in the forces.
Mr Hussain offered heartfelt condolences to the grieving family members of the security forces personnel who lost their lives in the deadly blast and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
Mr Hussain appealed to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and heads of the armed forces to plan a definite strategy for dealing with terrorism in the country.
