The committee said that the failure of Pakistan to eliminate polio towards to healthy and polio-free world was being regarded with concern at the international level. The committee said that Pakistanis travelling abroad could face problems if urgent steps were not taken to stamp out polio from the country.
The Co-ordination Committee said that with the declaration of Peshawar as the centre of polio, it has become obvious that the future of our children was not safe. The committee appealed to President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take serious notice of the report published by the WHO and take elaborate plans for giving polio drops to all children.
