Condemning the terrorists’ act of destroying pilgrims’ buses in Quetta, Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain expressed his grief and sorrow over the killing and maiming of several women and children in the heinous incident.
In a strongly worded statement issued on Wednesday, the MQM chief said that the suicidal attack on the innocent and unarmed pilgrims who were proceeding to sacred religious places was an act of cowardice and an open oppression and hence it must be widely condemned.
“What wrong they (the innocent pilgrims) have done and what was their fault that they were targeted by terrorists,” Mr Hussain asked, saying the elements involved in such acts of barbarism were known to all and yet inaction against them posed serious questions vis-à-vis the writ and authority of the government.
The MQM chief demanded of the government to immediately arrest the culprits involved in the heinous crime, giving them exemplary punishment.
Offering his condolences with the families of those who lost their lives in the incident, he prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed souls in eternal peace and give courage to the members of the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss. He also prayed for speedy recovery of all those who sustained injuries in the incident.
