Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain said here that Pakistan cannot get rid of terrorism and extremism unless the ideals and teachings of founder of the country Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah were implemented in the letter and spirit.
In a message issued on the occasion of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah’s birth anniversary, the MQM chief deplored that although the country had been celebrating birthday of the founder of the nation since long, the two per cent privileged class occupying the country seemed unaware of the ideals and teachings of the Quaid-i-Azam.
He said that though the Quaid-i-Azam wanted to make Pakistan a moderate and modern Islamic welfare state under which minorities were to have equal basic rights including the rights of worshipping in accordance with their religion, the menace of extremism and terrorism, had blared the Quaid-i-Azam’s concept which, he added, was a matter to ponder over for the people at the helm of affairs.
On this occasion, Mr Hussain reiterated that the MQM which wanted the country and the nation should function in accordance with the ideals and concept of the founder of the nation would continue its righteous struggle till such goals were achieved.
