Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee has felicitated federal government, citizens and industrialists on being given the status of GSP plus by European Parliament to Pakistan, saying that the placement of the country under the category was `a great success for the country in the export sector’.
In a congratulatory statement issued on Thursday, the Coordination Committee said that the status of giving GSP plus status to Pakistan by the European Parliament with a majority would help boost the country’s export.
Terming the European Parliament’s decision of according Pakistan the status of GSP plus `a great victory for the country in the exports sector’, the Coordination Committee said that the country upon getting the status of GSP would not only be able to export its products to European Union’s countries up to 2017 but would also be allowed to export its products to 27 EU countries without duty.
Pakistani products which were already in high demand in the international market and now the country following getting the status of GSPplus would also be exporting its products, including textiles, to the European countries, the Committee said, and hoped that the government would leave no stone unturned in marketing its products in European countries with new vigour, thereby enhancing the countries abroad.
