Muttahida Qaumi Movement organized a ‘Martyrs Day’ (YOUM-E-SHOHDA ) across Pakistan on December 9 in commemoration of Mr. Hussain’s elder brother Nasir Hussain, nephew Arif Hussain and other martyrs who had laid down their lives for freedom and justice in the country.
MQM organized gatherings across Pakistan in its offices in Sind, Punjab, Baluchistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir where participation did recitation of the Holy Quran and prayed for martyrs. They also paid honour and tributes to martyrs.
On the occasion of ‘YOUM-E-SHOHDA’ main Fateha gathering was held at the Jinnah Ground Azizabad in front of the monument built in the memory of martyrs.
Mr. Hussain’s sister, Saira, father and mother of Dr. Imran Farooq, family members of the martyrs, family members of MQM’s workers who are in prison and missing workers and MQM’s workers, office bearers attended the gathering in large numbers.
The members of MQM’s Rabita Committee, Deputy Conveners Dr. Khalid Maqbool, Dr. Nusrat and Engineer Nasir Jamal, Haq Parast senators, members of National and Provincial Assemblies and officer bearers of different wings and departments were present too.
The participants of the gatherings recited the Quran, Kalima Tayeeba and prayed for the souls of the martyrs. In the end Haq Parast member of the Provincial Assembly Abdul Haseeb offered dua for the martyrs with humility. He prayed to Allah for granting high places to martyrs, patience for the bereaved families, recovery of the missing workers, and release of arrested workers, elimination of terrorism from the country, restoration for peace in the country and success of struggle for freedom and justice. He also prayed for Mr. Hussain’s health and long life.
