Scholars should tell people if it is right to call killers of innocent people martyrs: Altaf Hussain

The founder and leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain has asked scholars belonging to all schools of thoughts, Mashaikhs and Muftis if is right to pronounce killers of innocent people and murderers like Hakeem Ullah Mehsud and Osama bin Laden martyrs. He added these people had committed slaughter of our soldiers . He has appealed them not to show expediency and the tell people if they can be called martyrs according to sharia or Islamic teachings.
Mr. Hussain expressed these things while addressing a joint meeting of Pakistan and London Rabita Committees. He discussed short and long-term risks and challenges faced by Pakistan in detailed with the committee members. They also discussed the rapidly changing international situation, particularly South Asia. They discussed the growing relations between India and Afghanistan, between the US and Iran.
It was decided in the meeting that people should be informed about the prevailing national and international situations. Mr. Hussain appealed to the teachers of colleges and universities especially the teachers of political science and international relations to play their role in apprising the students of changing global situations.
They discussed the statement made by leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami who had called slain leader of Taliban Hakeem-Ullah Mehsud and Osama bin Laden martyrs. They lamented that these people were killing innocent people, slaughtering our soldiers, attacking Mosques, Imambargahs, Shrines and girl’s schools, blowing bazaars, congregations of prayers.
Mr. Hussain directed the members of Rabita Committee, elected representatives and ulema committee to meet scholars, mashaiks and get their views on the statements of Jamaat leaders who had called terrorists martyrs.
Mr. Hussain has once again appealed to Shia and Sunni scholars to condemn the people who are trying to disturb sectarian harmony in their sermons and trying to pitch Shia against Sunnis.
