LEADERS OF JOURNALISTS ASSOCIATIONS OF PAKISTAN & TV ANCHOR PERSONS!
Hi,
One of Pakistan's top dashing investigative journalists, TV show host, and YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan was abducted by some unidentified and masked persons from Sialkot International Airport on 11 May 2023. He had to fly to abroad. It has been a month since his disappearance today, but till today no one, including his family and the Police, knows about his whereabouts. I am quite astonished that during his one month disappearance, neither the associations of the journalists in the country demanded for his safe recovery nor journalists and anchor persons staged any protest. Journalists may have some differences with
, but he is a member of your own journalists fraternity. It is very unfortunate that the associations of the journalists and electronic media representative body didn't even say a word in condemnation but preferred to stay silent. This is a criminal mode. Set aside your personal grudges and speak up. Remember, you might also face the same circumstances because those who abducted Imran Riaz Khan won't hesitate for a second to abduct you if they would smell danger from you. Only the victim and his parents, wife, kids and siblings will writhe in agony alone.
As it is candid clear that the country's journalists fraternity is being intimidated and if so, then, it would be better for you to change your profession and adopt and devise other means for the livelihood. If you choose to continue as journalist then you should stop fearing and maintain the sanctity of the pen and the paper.
