Whether it is the military martyrs' monument or the civilians' martyrs' one, the sanctity of both carries the same height.
Posted on: 5/22/2023
May 22, 2023: Whether it is the military martyrs' monument or the civilians' martyrs' one, the sanctity of both carries the same height. The military establishment had vehemently condemned the acts of razing the military monuments in various parts of Pakistan on May 9, 2023. Conversely, the condemnation was also well orchestrated by the mainstream political and religious parties. The MQM had in principle also condemned it. Such monuments are a sign of high sacrifices and there is no difference in military or civilian monuments. Those who pay pilgrimage to the monuments of the military or civilian martyrs learn about the sacrifices of the martyrs. These monuments are centres of great reverence and dignity. Let me ask the top military brass and leaders of political and religious parties why they didn't condemn the act of razing the monument of the martyrs belonging to the MQM on Dec 14, 2019? The military, paramilitary Rangers and the Police extrajudicially executed them in fake encounters with the law enforcers. That monument in loving memory of those MQM martyrs was erected at the historic Jinnah Ground of Karachi. Is there any difference between military and civilian martyrs? Is the status of civilian martyrs lower than the military ones? Aren't the families of the civilian martyrs like the families of military ones?Whether the families of the civilian martyrs don't aggrieve the colossal losses of lives as the families of the military martyrs lament. Is there any divine classification of the military and civilian martyrs? Of course not! It's totally unfair to hold the military Martyrs monuments in high esteem while taking no shame while insulting the civilian martyrs ones. The sanctity of the civilian martyrs monuments can't be divided or degraded, anyway.
