SUN charity (Society for the Unwell and Needy) was created on the direction of founder and leader of MQM Mr. Altaf Hussain in order to carry out the charitable work overseas.

It was the Central Coordination Committee of MQM who had proposed the names to be inducted as trustees,  upon which Mr Hussain endorsed the recommendations of the CCC.

On the instructions and approval of Mr Hussain, MQM provided the funds for the purchase of the property which is a part of SUN.

MQM also provided funds to SUN charity to establish Schools,  and Nazir Hussain University in Karachi under the banner of SUN academy. 

However it must be noted, for the violation of party discipline and Mr Mir's wrongdoings in relation to his fiduciary duties owed to the charity, MQM Central Coordination Committee  decided to expel Mr Mir from the  party on 25th February 2018. 

Mr Mir is organising a Charity dinner  under the name of ‘ SUN charity ‘,  on 27th November 2021 in Clay Oven, Wembley, London. 

MQM has nothing whatsoever to do with this Charity dinner, any use of the name of MQM or Mr Altaf Hussain in raising funds will render Mr Mir liable to fraud and misrepresentation.
