MQM leaders stress need for sectarian harmony

MQM leaders stress need for sectarian harmony
 Posted on: 11/13/2013
Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee members Ahmed Salim Siddiqui and Adil Khan met prominent Ulema and religious scholars -- Allama Hassan Zafar Naqvi, Dr Jameel Rathore and Dr Waqar Azeemi --as a part of their on-going efforts to ensure sectarian harmony and peace during Muharram.
The religious scholars and Ulema on this occasion said that an act of fanning sectarian hatred by anti-social elements of any sect was against the teachings of Islam.
Haq Parast MNA Iqbal Mohammad Ali and MQM Ulema Committee’s In-charge Javaid Ahmed and members were also present on the occasion.
The Coordination Committee members in their separate meetings with the Ulema and religious scholars on Tuesday said that preaching and promoting sectarian harmony and respect for each other’s religion was in true spirit of Islam.
They said that the MQM chief Altaf Hussain had always described sectarian hatred and intolerance as a conspiracy not only against the people of both the sects but also against the Muslim unity.
Lauding the MQM’s on-going dialogue with religious leaders of different schools of thought for promoting sectarian harmony, the Ulema and religious scholars prayed that Almighty Allah might accept Altaf Hussain’s sincere efforts in this regard.
