Haq Parast MNAs slams Jirga Decision in Kalam Valley

The Members of National Assembly MNAs belonging with Muttahida Quami Movement have strongly condemned the  backward and coercive decision of a local “Jirga” in Swat valley of Kalam according to which four innocent girls were handed over to the boys under the jirga tradition of “Sawara” .
The Haq Parast MNAs have termed this decision as a cruelty with women folks and an ugly spot on society.
In a strongly worded statement Haq parast MNAs said that it is quite deplorable in a country like Pakistan to victimize the innocent girls to the self created and illegal decisions of backward and coercive traditions of jirga. It has refreshed the bitter memories of the era of darkness.
They said that outdated and cruel jirga system has added ordeal to women folk and made them hostage of so called customs and virtual and enhanced their miseries.
They said that it is not only the matter of serious concern but a matter to ponder over that due the backward and coercive traditions of jirga and its decisions the lives of two sisters and two nieces have been ruined.
MQM is the only political party in the country which not only strives for the rights of women but also provides equal rights to them in the society.
MQM will keep on raising its voice and concerns against all the atrocities being committed against the women and leave no stone un turned to protect them from becoming the prey of outdated, barbaric & heinous traditions.
The Haq Parast MNAs have demanded of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif, interior minister Chaudry Nisar Ali to take immediate and stern notice of such heinous and barbaric so called jirga decisions against four innocent girls, nab the culprits involved and giving them exemplary punishment.
