MQM SEVERELY CONDEMNS MURDER ATTEMPT ON MQM SOUTH AFRICA ORGANISER, RASHID MEENAI

LONDON. Aug 19, 2019: MQM’s Coordination Committee (CC) has vehemently condemned murder attempt on party’s South African (SA) organiser and CC’s honorary assistant Rashid Meenai.

In a statement issued here in London, the CC said that on the occasion of a rally on August 14th on the atrocities on Mohajirs in Pakistan, certain elements on the payroll of Pakistani establishment had attempted top intimidate the participants of the rally. Now the situation reached a level of attempt to murder the Organiser, Meenai in which he luckily escaped the lethal attempt. It was not new as the Pakistani establishment and its puppet had time and again attempted to inflict lethal accidents to the MQM designees as these have hired the services of professional killers under the aegis of Pakistani Embassy in SA.

The CC has through this statement approached the SA President Mr Cyril Rampaphosa and the SA government to take stern notice of attempt to murder the MQM organiser in SSA as the affected is a legal citizen of the SA. Those involved and behind that murder attempt should be arrested, taken to task and the affected Meenai and party workers should be provided all due legal and protective cover.

The CC said that SA is a country of Great Leader Mr Nelson Mandela, who not only struggled for the people of SA but he was a very strong and dynamic voice for the oppressed all over the world. It is fervently expected that the SA government would take all due measures for the safety of the MQM workers, supporters, sympathisers and designees in SA per the teachings of Mr Mandela.

The CC has also said that it would sit not idle and silent but would approach SA government, Ruling African National Congress and other progressive parties and the international rights organisations and the United Nations.
