ALTAF HUSSAIN SLAMS PAKISTAN GOVERNMENT ON REMOVAL OF AN AHMEDI FROM EAC

Jogendra Nath Mandal was from Hindu fraternity and was in Jinnah’s cabinet as minister for law and labour. Justice Alvin Robert Cornelius was a Christian and fourth Chief Justice of Pakistan’s Supreme Court and Rustam Sohrab Ji Sidhwa, Justice Durrab Patel were Chief Justice of Supreme Court and Chief Justice of Sindh High Court respectively. Rana Bhagwan Das from Hindu fraternity was also Chief Justice of Pakistan

LONDON. Sep 9, 2018: Muttahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) founder and leader Mr. Altaf Hussain has strongly slammed the PTI’s federal government in Pakistan for removing a Pakistani citizen Atif Mian from the Economic Advisory Council only on the basis of his beliefs as the victim hails from the Ahmedi community. The Ahmedis are also citizens of Pakistan ad have equal rights as Pakistani citizens and hence they can’t be individualized, isolated and barred on the basis of their faith. His induction and then immediate expulsion on pressure for the extremist gangs is in fact a murder of the merit and is highly condemnable.

This he said in his audio and video address to his millions of followers across the world through the social media.

He said that the constitution of Pakistan has a guarantee for the equal rights of the minority and the national flag’s white part clearly represents them. Anyone from the religious minority should not be deprived of his/her right to serve the country on the basis of particular belief. Those, who are doing this should also explain whether they have the capacity and strength to remove the white part from the national flag and constitution of Pakistan. Once the Ahmedi community has been declared as Non-Muslim in Pakistan so why their right as being a minority is not accepted and why they are agonised and isolated? Will the Ahmedi community be expelled from Pakistan and whether they are not Humans as we are? He asked.

The constitution of Pakistan protects rights of all minorities in Pakistan and they can free of fear establish their places of worship and perform their religious rituals. Those who oppose the Ahmedi community because they don’t have their faith in end of Prophethood on Muhammad (peace be upon him), should also tell whether the Sikh, The Hindu and The Christian do have faith on Muhammad (peace be upon him) as last of the Prophets. As are all, the Ahmedis are also human beings and their Creator and ours is the same, the almighty Allah, Who is the provider of all means for the living to all humans alike.

He said that the founder of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah never judged the people from their particular beliefs and religious cults and that he respected all the religions. He wanted to make Pakistan a liberal and progressive country, not a theocratic state. In his speech he made on Aug 11, 1947, he had said that Pakistan has been founded and its citizens irrespective of their personal religious cults and beliefs are free to exercise their rights for attending their religious gatherings, congregations, establishing their separate places of worship and the state of Pakistan would have nothing to do with their particular ideas, beliefs and religious cults.

He said that the Ahmedis had actively participated in the fight for freedom and for Pakistan and one such eminent freedom fighter Sir Chaudhry Muhammad Zafarullah Khan was in the cabinet of Jinnah. He was Pakistan’s first foreign minister and was first Pakistani citizens from Ahmedi community who represented Pakistan in the United Nations General Assembly and International Court of Justice. He became Pakistan permanent delegate to UN in 1961.

He said that Jogendra Nath Mandal was from Hindu fraternity and was in Jinnah’s cabinet as minister for law and labour. Hence, the role and sacrifices of the people from Pakistan’s minorities could never be ignored and forgotten.

Rana Bhagwan Das from Hindu fraternity was also Chief Justice of Pakistan. The people from minority have also served in Pakistan army and their sacrifices are no less than those from Muslims. In 1950, M. M. Mirza was the State bank of Pakistan’s Governor. Scientist Abdul Salam was a renowned Ahmedi Pakistani who received Nobel Prize for his services in Physics. he brought god name to Pakistan was neglected because he was an Ahmedi Pakistani. in recent past, A chair in his name in Quaid-e Azam University, Islamabad was dissolved.

In recent days, Atif Mian also an eminent economist from Ahmedi fraternity was first inducted and within a couple days expelled from the Economic Advisory Council of Pakistan because he hails from Ahmedi fraternity. Federal information minister is presenting lame excuse on his removal as the minister said that the PTI’s government wanted to take all the sections of life and the stakeholders on board and since the majority of the population has raised objections so the Ahmedi member of the economic council was removed.

Has the PTI’s government an agenda of expelling all Hindu, Sikh, Christian and Ahmedi people from Pakistan and in case the countries of the West and the world start doing the same then what Pakistan would do? He asked.

On removal of Atif Mian, two other members of the economic council Asim Khawaja and Imran Rasool have also resigned from the economic council.

Mr. Hussain ironically said that its time for Imran Khan Niazi, the Prime Minister of Pakistan to appoint some fanatics and extremists such as Maulana Khadim Hussain Rizvi, Hafiz Saeed, Maulana Masood Azhar, Maulana Yousuf Ludhyanvi, Maulvi Ehsanullah Ehsan (Taliban commander), Maulvi Abdul Aziz and Zahid Hamid as members of the Economic Advisory Council of Pakistan and should declare zero space for the minority.

He demanded that injustices done to minorities of Pakistan should now cease to exist and they should be treated as equal citizens of Pakistan or else there would be extremism everywhere in Pakistan.
