UNLAWFUL BAN ON ALTAF HUSSAIN IN PAKISTAN QUESTIONED IN UNHRC

United Nations (UN) Human Rights Commission in its 36th session going on since past few days has raised the issue of unlawful ban on Muttahidda Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) founder & leader Mr. Altaf Hussain under which he has been unlawfully restricted to speak to million of his followers and Pakistani print and electronic media has also been instructed not to carry his speech, statement or picture.

The Mohajir delegate in UN human Rights session Advocate Ghaffar Adil in his address to the session said that Mr. Hussain is the sole leader of 50 million Mohajirs and he has also been threatened for his life owing to which he is exile since past many years.

He told the session that Pakistani military and paramilitary forces have extrajudicially killed more than 20, 000 innocent Mohajirs in genocidal military operations against MQM.

Advocate Ghaffar told the session that Mr. Hussain is a popular secular leader of Pakistan but Pakistan’s security institutions used all unlawful and inhuman means to curb his voice and finally they imposed a ban on him in Pakistan. Mr. Hussain and millions of his followers have been deprived of their rights.

He also told the session that Mr. Hussain consistently raises voice against atrocities on Balouch and Mohajir Nations and other oppressed communities in Pakistan and hence he has been  placed under unlawful ban.

The Mohajir delegate in UN Human Rights Advocate Ghaffar urged upon the internation community to enquire from the state of Pakistan as why they fear Mr. Hussain and why his rights have been suppressed and not allowed to speak to millions of his followers, Mohajirs and other oppressed folks in Pakistan.
