UN should investigate smuggling of narcotics via PIA flight to London: MQM Convener
Smuggling of narcotics without active connivance and support of security and intelligence authorities was impossible – Nadeem Nusrat
MQM Coordination Committee Convener Nadeem Nusrat has said that the shipment of heroine to London through PIA flight was very shameful. According to media reports, the PIA flight had arrived at London from Islamabad. It is known to every individual Pakistani citizen that airports are highly protected areas with sophisticated screening, monitoring and surveillance tools and measures and besides Airport Security Force – or ASF, mentionable contingents of Inter-Services intelligence – or ISI, Military Intelligence – or MI, Intelligence Bureau – or IB and other security and intelligence authorities remain in nook and cranny of airports. Therefore, it is impossible to ship any consignment of narcotics especially heroine without the active connivance and support of security forces and intelligence authorities to other countries. The shipped cache of narcotics concealed in secret sections of the plane without the support of security forces and intelligence units at airport will remain impossible.
The recovery of narcotics form PIA flights has endorsed the statement of MQM founder leader Mr. Altaf Hussain that Pakistani security forces and intelligence authorities are grossly involved in unlawful activities, businesses and heinous crimes.
The MQM Convener Nusrat demanded that the case of shipping narcotics to London from Islamabad through PIA flight ought to be investigated and the culprits should not be spared.
He stressed that the investigations should only be carried on by a UN deputed team because Pakistani security authorities will never allow transparent investigations as the shipment of narcotics was possible only under their noses. Is this not strange that the security forces force any passenger to get off the plane over the slightest suspicion but they could not smell the bags that were filled with the narcotics, which arrived at London with the flight.
He said that the shipment of heroine to London from Islamabad through PIA flight has brought a very bad name to Pakistanis abroad. The incumbent federal interior minister of Pakistan Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Pakistan’s security and intelligence agencies are responsible for the shipped narcotics and they are totally incapable and inefficient of meeting the standards and needs a country deserves.
