Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Rabita Committee’s Member Syed Haider Abbas Rizvi has said that Security agencies should be not be schismatic and display prejudices if they want to restore peace in the city.
We can restore peace in the city and the country if we use force judiciously.
He expressed these views while talking to students in All Karachi Urdu Debate organized by All Pakistan Muttahida Student Federation at the Karachi University.
Mr. Rizvi said that Knowledge is power and students should pay attention to their studies seriously. He added that the country was passing through a difficult time and the solution of our problem lies in education.
He also touched upon the ongoing operation in the city. He said that MQM wanted peace in the city. However, they are targeting a party and a community under the pretext of operation. He urged that security forces would have to come out of the prejudices and schismatic attitude if they wanted to restore peace in the city. They should not harass people. They should form an effective intelligence network and carry out targeted operation on the basis of their intelligence reports to arrest criminals.
Mr. Rizvi deplored that the provincial assembly wanted to usurp the authority of the Universities Syndicate Committees. He promised that his party would raise the issue on every platform.
He congratulated APMSO on the successful organization of this Debate Event. On this occasion, APMSO’s General Secretary Information Syed Waqas Ali Shah, Joint Secretary Adil Khan, Finance Secretary Amr Qaim Khani and members of APMSO Central committee and Vice Chancellor Dr. Qaiser were present. Teachers and Students also attended the event in large numbers.
Sixty four students from 30 universities participated in the event. Mr. Rizv chaired the Debate Event. Successful candidates were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals. Media persons from different channels were present at the University of Karachi to cover the event.
