MQM condemns illegal raids, arrests in Johar Town
The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement strongly condemned the illegal raids and arbitrarily arrests of workers and office-bearers of MQM Johar Town office at block-17 by the plain-clothed security personnel.
In a statement, the Coordination Committee said that the plain-clothed security personnel came on without number plate vehicles arrested MQM Johar Town office member Anwarul Hassan, ward-8 committee member Faisal Wahab, Councilor Cantonment Board Zeshan Farooqi, workers Azhar Quraishi and Talha. It said that the illegal raids and arbitrarily arrests were showing the intention of government and law enforcement agencies to malign MQM.
The Committee said that the authorities imposed unannounced ban on MQM’s political and social activities through a drive of fear and threatened among the party workers and supporters and termed the act was condemnable. It demanded the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to take notice against illegal raids and arbitrarily arrests of MQM workers.
