Altaf Hussain slams Izhar Khan’s arrest
The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Altaf Hussain strongly condemned illegal and arbitrary arrest of member Coordination Committee Izhar Amhed Khan by the Rangers on Tuesday.
In a statement issued from London Secretariat, MQM Chief said that the operation that started to maintain peace in Karachi turned to crash MQM for the last three years. He said that thousands of MQM workers and office-bearers were arrested during the ongoing operation and among hundreds of them were still disappeared.
He said that the Rangers were deliberately targeting MQM and arrested various members of Coordination Committee, including Amir Khan, Kahiful Wara, Qamar Mansoor and Shahid Pasha. He said that all the members later were released after illegal detention without any legal charges though they were treated like criminals by the Rangers.
Mr. Hussain appealed national and international human rights organizations to take notice against such discriminations of people’s rights by the powerful law enforcement agencies in Karachi. He said that the Rangers were continuously violating the Constitution of the country by exceeding their limits.
