MQM condemns arrest of Izhar Ahmed Khan

The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement strongly condemned illegal and arbitrary arrest of member Coordination Committee Izhar Ahmed Khan by the Rangers and demanded his immediate release.
 
In a statement, the Coordination Committee said that he was arrested while visiting MPA Abdul Haseeb to enquire about his health at his home in FB Area. It said that the Rangers’ personnel refused to tell the cause of arrest and took him to unknown location long with them.
 
The Committee said Izhar Ahmed Khan is patient of high blood pressure and cardiac and the illegal arrest could cause any serious consequences to his health. It said that through a proper conspiracy some elements were trying to eliminate MQM from the political scenario.
 
The Coordination Committee said that during the last three years of ongoing operation MQM’s 61 innocent workers were extra-judicially killed in Rangers and police custody and more than 135 workers were forcefully disappeared after their illegal arrests. It said that despite taking action against those Rangers and police personnel involved in workers extra-judicial killings MQM leaders and workers were being arbitrarily arrested.
 
The Coordination Committee demanded the President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, COAS General Raheel Sharif and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to take notice of illegal arrest of Izhar Ahmed Khan and should order his immediate release. It also appealed to the human rights organizations to take notice of such discriminations i=of human rights and should raise their voice against suppression with Muhajirs.
