MQM’s Rabita Committee strongly condemns the executions of three women in name of honor on the orders of so called tribal jirga in Kohat

MQM’s Rabita Committee has strongly condemned the executions of three women in the name of honor on the orders of so called tribal jirga in Kohat. The gruesome murders of women have proved that some people are violating laws and the constitution by conducting Jirgas despite the imposition of ban by courts.
In a statement the Rabita Committee has said that holding of these jirgas and pronouncement of punishments on the basis of old traditions is contrary to the law. People who are holding jirgas and awarding punishment to people are slaves to outmoded traditions. They are executing women and innocent people without following the due process of law. Their actions should be condemned as much as possible. 
The Rabita Committee has expressed sympathies with the bereaved families of the murdered women and urged them to remain calm and composed. They have demanded of the Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef and Federal Interior Minister to take notice of the gruesome murders of the three women and arrest people responsible for the crime and prosecuted them in accordance with the laws and award them severe punishments.
