MQM delegation calls on Mufti Naeem
The members of Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Izhar Ahmed Khan, Aslam Afridi and elected-Mayor Qasim Akhtar called on prominent religious-scholar Mufti Naeem of Jamia Naeemia.
Talking on the occasion, Mufti Naeem expressed his grave concerns over stoppage of development, sanitation works and increasing issues of the people. Mufti Naeem demanded the government to immediately restore the local bodies system and should conduct the mayor, deputy mayor and chairmen’s elections on priority.
He also appealed to the people to pay due respect to the opponent sects and religions, especially during the holy month of Ramadan and requested the fellow religious scholars to maintain peace, love, harmony and brotherhood in their speeches.
Meanwhile, the MQM delegation said that the federal and provincial governments creating hurdles for not only conducting LG mayor’s polls but also resolving the issues of the people. It said that the people had serious concerns over absence of their representatives to resolve their issues. MQM’s delegation appreciated the stance of Mufti Naeem over conducting the LG polls final round.
