For Equitable Distribution Of National Resources, Alleviation Of The Sense Of Deprivation Amongst Ethno-Linguistic Entities And To Promote The Sense Of Equality Amongst All Citizens Of Pakistan, An All Parties Conference Must Be Immediately Convened To Discuss The Creation Of New Provinces And New Administrative Units In The Country – Altaf Hussain
MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain while addressing the Government and the people at the helm of affairs has stated alongside calling APC on other national issues, for equitable distribution of national resources, alleviation of the sense of deprivation amongst ethno-linguistic entities and to promote the sense of equality amongst all citizens of Pakistan new provinces must be created forthwith, an All Parties Conference must be immediately convened to discuss the creation of new administrative units in the country. He emphasised that the creation of new provinces will guarantee the prosperity and security of Pakistan. He made these demands while addressing a joint session of MQM Coordination Committee in London and Pakistan.
Mr Hussain earnestly appealed to the people from all walks of life, intellectuals, political leadership, thinkers, and people of Pakistan in general including students, women, labours, peasants and farm workers to recognise their responsibilities for the prosperity, progress and security of Pakistan. Today, the entire world including the developed countries and those with veto powers are faced with uncertain economic situation, deteriorating law and order, poverty and dearth, unemployment at its peak, inept education and health facilities; and also uncertain military situation; are facing instability. Every region of the world fears Third World War. In such precarious times, non-developed country like Pakistan overburden with loans is faced with serious challenges and people at the helm of affairs must rise above linguistic, ethnic, cultural, regional, sectarian and other differences and formulate realistic policies for a durable existence, security and prosperity of the nation; even if they have to swallow the bitter pill.
Pakistan was created 66 years ago and the country’s administratively we have tried one unit, two-units and after being divided into four-units after 1971. But the vehicle of country’s administration is not moving ahead. In the meantime, population has increased manifolds; however, no new administrative reforms or actions have been taken. Whereas, it is all but natural that as a result of inequitable distribution of resources amongst the provinces, the feelings of unity, togetherness, national cohesion and security, care for each other have come down only to verbal claims but far from reality. Therefore, the Government and people at the helm of affairs must alongside calling APC on other national issues, for equitable distribution of national resources, alleviation of the sense of deprivation amongst ethno-linguistic entities and to promote the sense of equality amongst all citizens of Pakistan, an All Parties Conference must be immediately convened to discuss the creation of new provinces and new administrative units in the country. They must learn lessons from the countries that gained independence 65 or 66 years ago; as to how many provinces they had at the time of independence and today with the increase in population how many new provinces they have created; whereas, we are at a standstill and looking for solutions to problems faced by provinces in unnatural divisions.
Mr Hussain said that as a patriotic Pakistani, in the light of information collected, he demands people at the helms of affairs to immediately create new provinces in the country. The creation of new provinces will guarantee the prosperity and security of Pakistan. He appealed to the intellectuals, writers and thinkers to guide the nation with their valuable comments and suggestions for this important and national issue and put forward useful recommendations for a strong and prosperous Pakistan.
