MQM has sent an urgent letter to the Secretary General of the United Nation requesting him to play his role in putting an end to human rights violations against Mohajirs in general and MQM workers and supporters in particular.
The letter provides the U.N. Secretary General with details of injustices and persecution that Mohajirs have been facing for decades. It also highlights how MQM, a party that represents Mohajirs as well as Pakistan's voiceless downtrodden people, has been systematically persecuted and prevented from playing its democratic role in the country's development.
The letter has also particularly highlighted violent, armed attacks that Haqiqi terrorists are carrying out against MQM workers and supporters in various areas of Karachi, Landhi and Malir in particular, under blatant official patronage.
It is the duty of the United Nations, the letter says, to ensure human rights are protected in its member countries.
