Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Rabita Committee has condemned former National Assembly member from Jauhar Town for keeping her minor maid in chains. She has been in chains for six month. They have termed his act as inhuman, illegal and gross violation of women’s rights. They lamented in their statement that feudal lords, tribal chiefs and influential people have established private jails in the country. These people are constantly committing gross violation of human rights because laws enacted for the prevention of such crimes are not implemented. Their acts should be condemned as much as possible.
Rabita Committee said that the recovery of a minor chained maid reflects the feudal attitude of these people. We cannot provide due rights to poor, middle class men, women and labors unless this attitude is eliminated from our country. They have made an appeal to the Prime Nawaz Shareef and Chief Minister Shahbaz Shareef to take serious notice of the recovery of the chained minor maid from the house of former national assembly member Liaquat Abbas Bhatti and punish him and his accessories for this heinous crime in accordance with the law.
