MQM condemns Home Ministry stance over Aftab Ahmed’s FIR

The Coordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement strongly condemned the provincial home ministry for asking MQM or Aftab Ahmed’s family to register FIR against the extra-judicial killing in Rangers’ custody rather the government to pursue the culprits.
In a statement, the Coordination Committee said that the provincial ministry’s stand clearly showed clumsy attempt to manipulate the facts of the incidents. It said that it was more than a week now and it was proved that innocent Aftab Ahmed was brutally tortured and killed in Rangers’ custody.
The Committee said that it was government’s responsibility to register the case against the culprits and ensured fair probe of the unfortunate incident. It said that for the last three years at least 56 workers were extra-judicially killed in LEAs custody and more 140 workers were forcefully disappeared.
The Coordination Committee said that the bereaved family was waiting for justice while the provincial ministry making the case conditionalized. It demanded the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to direct the government to register the case against the culprits of extra-judicial killing of Aftab Ahmed.
