The Senior Deputy Convener of Muttahida Quami Movement Dr. Farooq Sattar said that nobody could say the death was natural because the deceased was brutally and insanely tortured with uprooted nails, cuts and spifflicated.
Talking to the media persons on the occasion of funeral prayers of his Coordinator, Dr Farooq Sattar said that it was a conspiracy to demoralize MQM workers by murdering extra-judicially in the Rangers custody. He said the DG Rangers called him and claimed the death was natural but he should answer a question that the deceased was alive and healthy when handed over to the Rangers.
Meanwhile, the extra-judicially murdered Aftab Ahmed son of Raiyatullah was buried at Shuhda Qabrustan, Yaseenabad in presence of thousands of mourners. The funeral was attended by Senior Deputy Conveners Dr Farooq Sattar, Amir Khan, Deputy Convener Kahiful Wara, Kanwar Naveed Jameel, members Coordination Committee, MNAs, MPAs, nominated-mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar, workers and supporters.
Dr Farooq Sattar said that what was this? People were deprived of their right to live freely and why was he treated with such hatred. He said it was incomprehensible that why the Urdu-speaking community was being victimized for nothing and deprived of all rights.
He said that during the controversial postmortem even the body was under arrest and not shown to the family and declared almost an imposition of curfew on the hospital’s gate. He said that he was an innocent man and his only crime was to be the worker of MQM and Altaf Hussain.
Dr Sattar offered General Naveed Mukhtar to send his team to determine his death was either natural or not. He said that he did not want to create hatred for national institutions in disguise of such brutal incidents because they were their own people.
He said that the Sindh government did not bother to even condole about the incident and it seemed the worst example of political culture. He demanded the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Core Commander Naveed Mukhtar and DG Rangers Bilal Akbar to provide justice to them and bring the culprits before the
