Nadeem Nusrat slams extra-judicial killing of MQM worker

The Convener of Muttahida Quami Movement NadeemNusrat strongly condemned the extra-judicial killing of Aftab Ahmed,an MQM worker and the Coordinator of Senior Deputy Convener DrFarooqSattar.

In a statement issued from London Secretariat, the Convener NadeemNusrat termed the brutality as a murder and said that such killings of MQM workers are continued in the custody of law enforcement agencies. He said that no culprit ever has been prosecuted yet for extra-judicial killings of the workers and supporters of MQM.

He said that Aftab Ahmed was arrested three days before and the Rangers took him in their remand yesterday and now he was declared dead. He said it was not the first incident but 56 MQM workers were brutally murdered in extra-judicial killings during the custody of LEAs since 2013.

Nadeem Nusrat said that nearly MQM’s 170 workers were forcefully disappeared after their arrests and they were never produced before any courts. He said the extra-judicial killing of Aftab Ahmed has also increased the dangers of other detainees’ lives.

He appealed the Chief Justice Supreme of Court to take suomoto action over the brutality shown by the Rangers. He also demanded the President Mumnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister ChaudhryNisar Ali Khan, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif and Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to announce immediately for official investigation over the killing of a detainee.
