Altaf Hussain urges new provinces to remove discriminations

The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain said that to remove all the discriminations and deprivations, it was necessary to struggle for new and separate province for Urdu-speaking people.
 
Addressing to a gathering of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Residence Committee from London, MQM Chief said that the Muhajirs elite and professionals should support MQM and actively participate in the struggle. He said that Muhajirs were being deprived of their fundamental rights since the inception of Pakistan and were also being massacred.
 
He said that the Quota System was imposed only in Sindh and the Urdu-speaking community was victimized and their merit was compromised by 60 percent for rural and only 40 percent for urban people of Sindh. He said that now even the quota system was not observed and Muhajir youth were not being given any job through CSS despite their merit and test clearance but they deliberately being disqualified in interviews.
 
Mr. Hussain said the current scenario of Sindh Secretariat depicts complete rural phenomena and among a lower division clerks to secretaries none of them are Muhajirs. He said that Asif Ali Zardari promised to give 40 percent jobs to the urban people in Sindh police but the promise was not fulfilled.
 
He said that the Muhajir candidate is not even considered for the post of Sindh Chief Minister and despite having the majority in past MQM was not allowed to nominate its Chief Minister. He said that if the Muhajirs were left behind the time of the age then they would never succeed. He said that for attaining excellence, we needed support from the all the intellectuals and professionals.
 
Mr. Hussain said that the mutilated history was being taught and the new generation was told that Allama Iqbal presented the theory of Pakistan but in actual Iqbal neither presented such theory nor claimed it ever. He said that it was British government wanted to divide India not any Muslim League leader, the then government provoked Hindu-Muslim riots in the country.
 
He said that the 23rd March 1940 resolution was normally referred as Pakistan Resolution but nobody used the word Pakistan at that meeting it was called Lahore Resolution and was well transcript on Lahore monument. He said that to fulfill the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah everyone should be given equal rights of living his life.
