Deployment of Army – Critics need to refer to Article 149(4) of the Constitution of Pakistan: Altaf Hussain

Supreme Court Judgment of 1994 in Shehla Zia case and Article 9 and 14 also needs to be looked at
Article 245(1) of the Constitution is also clear
MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has stated that his demand for deployment of army to protect the life and property of the Katchi community in light of the severe and critical condition of law and order in certain areas of Karachi is being unduly criticised be certain constitutional and legal experts. In response to these critics he clarified that the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Article 149(4) needs to be referred to and also to look into the Supreme Court judgment of 1994 in Shehla Zia Case with reference to Article 9 and 14. Furthermore, Article 245(1) is also well known to the students of law.
