Sindh Government and Karachi’s Administration have failed to provide protection to Kutchi Community: Altaf Hussain
Urged the Prime Minister to hand over Karachi to the Army
Muttahida Quami Movement Quaid’s  Altaf Hussain has condemned the attack on Kutchi Community people with rockets and automatic weapons after the return of the people, who were compelled to leave their homes  because of violence. The attack has been going on since yesterday  when  they moved into their homes.
Mr. Altaf Hussain deplored the inaction of the Chief Minister, Sindh Government and Karachi’s administration. Scores of people have died and injured including women since yesterday. Sindh government, Karachi’s Administration and the police have not only failed to stop this open terrorism but also have disappeared from the troubled area. It gives the impression as if police and law enforcement agencies do not exist in Karachi.
Mr. Altaf Hussain said that the administration and the government had assured the displaced people of Kutchi community that they would be given complete protection if they returned to Karachi. The Commissioner had assured thousands of displaced people when they had staged a protest at the Karachi Press Club that they would be given protection if they returned to their homes. However, when the displaced people of Kutchi Community decided to return to their homes after the assurances given by the Commission Karachi so they could restart a new life. Terrorists dashed their hopes by attacking them with automatic weapons and rockets.
Addressing the Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef, Mr. Altaf Hussain said that the Sindh Government has failed to provide protection to Karachi’s people and business community from Lyari gangs and extortionists. He urged the prime minister to hand over Karachi to the army if he is unable to provide protection to Karachi’s unarmed people and business community because of legal and constitutional restraints. Karachi’s unarmed, innocent people and business community is looking towards the army as a last hope.
