Felicitating the leaders of Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and other parties on the victory of their candidates in Thursday’s by-elections, Muttahida Quami Movement chief Altaf Hussain said that his party respected the mandate of their parties and expected the same from them.
“At a time when the country was passing through a critical juncture it was incumbent upon us to accept the existence of each other,” he added.
Mr Hussain was speaking over phone at a huge gathering of MQM’s office-bearers, workers and sympathizers who had assembled at the party’s Zonal Office of Mirpurkhas to felicitate the party’s candidate Dr Zafar Ahmed Kamali on his election as Member of Sindh Assembly from PS-64 in Thursday’s by-poll. Members of MQM Coordination Committee, Sindh Tanzeemi Committee, Mirpurkhas Zone’s In-charge Shabbir Kaimkhani and Zonal Committee’s members were also present.
On the occasion, Mr Hussain felicitated office-bearers and workers of MQM Mirpurkhas and all other provinces of the country, including Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Parachinar and people belonging to different walks of life, non-Muslims and leaders of Azad on the grand victory of Dr Zafar Ahmed Kamali.
He said that the success of Dr Kamali was the fruit of the sacrifices rendered by all sincere, missing and martyred workers of MQM (Mirpurkhas).
Without mentioning the name of PTI chief Imran Khan, the MQM chief said that although a person without having proof had held him and his party workers responsible for the murder of his party’s elderly worker and tried to tarnish his image in Britain, the Almighty Allah blessed the MQM with a grand victory in the by-elections.
He said that the MQM candidates’ victory in the by-polls had also exposed all those who had levelled baseless allegations against him and his party as a part of their national and international conspiracies.
On this occasion, Mr Hussain urged all the inactive senior workers and old colleagues of MQM to return to the party’s fold as the process of party’s re-organisation was currently under way whereas the country was passing through a difficult phase.
Expressing his gratitude to the residents of Mirpurkhas for casting their votes in favour of MQM candidate in the by-poll, Mr Hussain said that all those who got elected the party’s nominee had proved that they were only faithful to him and, hence no one should consider Mirpurkhas as their fiefdom.
On this occasion, he asked the newly-elected MPA, Dr Kamali to visit all the localities of Mirpurkhas to thank all the workers and voters and serve them without any discrimination.
Felicitating the party’s Zonal Committee of Mirpurkhas, all workers and residents of Mirpurkhas on getting elected MQM’s candidate as MPA, Mr Hussain said that “he can proudly say that Mirpurkhas was his city, is his city and will, Inshallah, remain his city, in future”.
