MQM WILL BOYCOTT THE ADDRESS OF PRESIDENT ZARDARI TO THE JOINT SITTING OF PARLIAMENT

 Posted on: 3/16/2012
PRACTICAL STEPS SHOULD BE TAKEN TO CURB THE HYDRA OF EXTORTION MAFIA OPERATING IN KARACHI
The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has announced that the MQM would boycott the address of President Asif Ali Zardari to the joint session of the parliament. A meeting of the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM was held in London and Pakistan simultaneously to deliberate on the situation arising after the protest of the MQM against collection of extortion money from the business community in Karachi. The meeting noted that no action was taken by the federal and the provincial against the extortion mafia in Karachi in spite of the peaceful protests of the MQM in the National Assembly and the Sindh Assembly. Only non-serious statements were made, and President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Gillani had not intervened in this regard.Keeping in view the apathetic attitude of the government, the Co-ordination Committee of the MQM has decided to boycott the address of President Zardari to the joint sitting of the parliament. The Co-ordination Committee has also decided that the MQM will continue to make peaceful protests at every forum as long as practical were taken to crush the hydra of extortion mafia operating in the city. The Co-ordination Committee held out firm assurances to the business community of Karachi that the MQM would not abandon them under any condition and would support them in every possible manner to protect their rights...Urdu News
