Altaf Hussain urges parties to demonstrate unity for country’s defence & survival

Muttahida Quami Movement chief Altaf Hussain said here on Wednesday that the need of the hour at a time when the country was passing through critical juncture in the wake of internal and external threats was that all political and religious parties should demonstrate unity so as to give a clear-cut message to anti-country forces that the entire Pakistani nation was one disciplined.
“The prevailing situation demands that all political and religious parties should take wise decisions above their party’s interest for the defence and survival of the country,” he added.
Mr Hussain was talking to members of MQM Coordination Committee over phone at the party’s Azizabad headquarters `Nine Zero’.
He said that said that motive behind the party’s politics was not to get power but to serve the masses because it considered service to the humanity as `Ibadat’. 
Mr Hussain said that the MQM being a democracy-loving party respected the mandate of all parties and always wanted that democracy should nurture in the country while legislations aimed at the country’s progress and prosperity as well as for the welfare of its people be carried out in the Senate, National Assembly and other elected houses.
MQM also wanted that that there should be supremacy of the constitution and the law in the country and people should be provided justice without any discrimination, he added.
At the outset, Mr Hussain exhorted the MQM leaders, elected representatives, office-bearers and workers to serve the masses by performing their duties diligently, leaving no stone unturned in solving people’s basic problems.
