The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain said, “MQM is the only representative of deprived and under privileged people of the country and had been struggling for the due rights of the poor and middle-class against obsolete feudal system.
In a statement issued from London Secretariat on the occasion of announcement of 13-member Punjab Committee, MQM Chief felicitated the President and the members for their selection. He said that the laborers and peasants were also deprived in Punjab like rest of the country and the feudal and landlords continuously discriminating their fundamental rights.
Mr. Hussain intimated Committee members that the struggle for the rights of the people was not all roses and they had to face cruelty of the situations and probably rendered sacrifices for the cause. He said that only those could achieve their goals whose commitment and determination could not be shaken.
He directed all the Committee members to connect with the people all over the Punjab including remote areas of the province to provide rights to the people. He advised them to preach and to spread MQM’s philosophy. He also directed them to resolve people’s issues as their capabilities and capacities.
He advised all the workers, especially the office-bearers to distance themselves from evils of the society and strictly follow the teachings and philosophy of MQM. He hoped that the newly-elected Committee would utilize its utmost potential to spread his philosophy and to resolve people’s issues.
