The Coordination Committee (CC) of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) yesterday announced a thirteen member Central Provincial Committee Punjab.
Kunwar Naveed Jameel, member CC flanked by other members including Muhammad Hussain , Mohtarma Zareen Majeed, Aslam Afridi, Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani and Kamal Malik announced the decision at a crowded press conference at Khursheed Begum Secretariat, Azizabad.
They announced that Mian Atique will be the President while Abid Gujjar will be the Senior Vice-President with Malik Abdul Waseem as Secretary General. Idrees Jami, Furqan Mughal, Nadeem Khokhar and Abdul Karim 2 K will be the vice presidents. A large number of MQM Central Committee Punjab were also present on the occasion.
Kunwar Naveed Jameel said that due to local bodies elections in Karachi and Karachi operation, there was less concentration on organizational matter of Punjab chapter of the party but now party structure would be strengthened. The party is gaining support and popularity and people are coming into the party fold with membership rising sharply. The central committee for Punjab is entrusted with the task of completing the organisational structure in 9 divisions of Punjab and 37 districts and tehsil level.
Kunwar Naveed Jameel vowed that organization was being strengthened as a buildup to 2018 general elections and MQM would be winning more seats and would field potential winners.
To a question, he said that MQM is the only party whose leaders are not tainted by allegations of corruption.
