The supporters of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) from London, Manchester, Sheffield, Bradford and other cities stage a demonstration in front of 10 Downing Street yesterday protesting against the ban on speeches, photographs and statement of MQM chief in print and electronic media.
Muhammad Anwar of MQM Coordination Committee, senior member Mustafa Azizabadi, Baber Khan Ghouri, Joint Organizer UK Sohail Khanzada and others were present who shouted slogans against the ban. Carrying party flag and holding photographs of MQM chief Altaf Hussain they distributed hand bills also containing the introduction of MQM and reason for the protest. They demanded of the Pakistan government to revoke the ban as criticism by Altaf Hussain was always positive and aimed at bringing reforms in national institutions of Pakistan, they said.
A memorandum was also handed over to the UK authorities at the 10 Downing Street. According to resolution, MQM was the third biggest political party of Pakistan having elected representatives in all elected houses. The party appealed to the British Premier to use his influence and urge the government of Pakistan to end the ban.
