Muttahida Lawyer’s Forum dissolved

Karachi: 18th January 2016:
MQM Co-ordination Committee has dissolved the Muttahida Lawyer’s Forum with immediate effect. The decision was taken in a meeting that was chaired by Acting Convener Nadeem Nusrat.

United Legal Council has been formed which will replace the dissolved lawyer’s forum. Barrister Dr Farogh Nasim will the president of the Council while Gulfaraz Khan Khattak will act as the secretary.

Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Dr Khalid Maqbool, Kunwar Naveed Jamil, Haider Abbas Rizvi, Rauf Siddiqui and Khawaja Izharul Hassan will serve as advisors to the newly created council.

The United Legal Council has been formed to spread the message of the MQM in the legal fraternity and to take part in the elections for bar councils. It will also co-ordinate with the international bar councils and organize seminars, conferences and symposiums.

MQM Founder and Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has approved the decisions of the Co-ordination Committee.
