The founder and leader of Muttahida Quami Movement Mr. Altaf Hussain paid rich tribute to the father of the nation Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah on the occasion of his 139th birthday anniversary on 25th December.
In a statement issued from London Secretariat, MQM Chief said that it was Quaid-i-Azam whose leadership made the dream come true and the Muslims of Indian sub-continent succeeded to get a separate homeland. He said that such personalities are born in centuries, whose devotion and determination change the course of life and history.
Mr. Hussain referred to the Quaid’s first speech after partition when he had declared that the people were free to go to the mosque, temples, churches and Gurdwaras. He further added an extract from his speech that the state did not have anything to do with the religion of the people.
He said that it was now the responsibility of entire nation to promote the Quaid’s vision and make the country more liberal and tolerant. He said, “MQM will continue its struggle to change Pakistan according to the vision of the Quaid-i-Azam and to make it a welfare state.”
