Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee on Friday strongly condemned the armed terrorists’ firing at the offices of Express News on Friday and termed it `an attack on the freedom of the Press’.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Coordination Committee said that the dastardly act of firing at the offices of the Express News was a clear proof that the anti-social elements were bent upon scaring all those associated with the noble profession of journalism so that they might not dare to speak and write the truth.
The Coordination Committee deplored that although social elements were freely roaming in the city and attacks were being carried out on the freedom of the Press, action against the culprits involved in criminal activities was being delayed which, it added, was a highly condemnable act.
The MQM Coordination Committee demanded of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah to inquire into the incident of firing at the offices of Express News, giving exemplary punishments to the culprits involved in it.
