Muttahida Qaumi Movement on Friday submitted a petition in Sindh High Court against the anchorperson of ARY, Mubbashir Luqman, claiming damages of Rs10 billion for defaming the party and its chief Altaf Hussain.
The petition against the anchor was filed in the SHC by Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee’s Deputy Convener Engr. Nasir Jamal and the party’s Parliamentary Leader in the National Assembly, Dr Farooq Sattar, for levelling fabricated and false allegations against the MQM and its founding leader, Altaf Hussain in the TV programme `Kharra Sach’ aired on June 27 and June 30 and July 2 and July 4.
Shortly after filing the petition, the MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar, told newsmen that the baseless and fabricated allegations levelled by the anchor against the party and its chief in the TV show have nothing to do with reality.
He said that Mr Luqman should apologise for indulging in character assassination of Mr Hussain and for levelling baseless allegations against the MQM.
