MQM says its mayor, deputy mayor will return unopposed

Unopposed election of Haq Parast candidates shows peoples’ confidence in Altaf Hussain’s leadership

Muttahid Qaumi Movement’s Coordination Committee Deputy Convener, Syed Shahid Pasha yesterday said his party’s candidates will be elected unopposed as mayor and deputy mayor for Karachi and Hyderabad in the upcoming local government elections.
 
Addressing a press conference at Hasrat Mohani Home Studies Hall to congratulate the people of Hyderabad on behalf of Altaf Hussain over the tremendous unopposed success of Haq Parst candidates, Shahid Pasha said until now MQM’s chairman and vice chairman have been elected unopposed on 9 out of 96 union councils in Hyderabad. Moreover, MQM’s members for all the 13 union councils have already returned unchallenged.
 
Pasha said it has been the record of the ruling party not to conduct local government elections. “The upcoming elections are being held on the orders of the Supreme Court and not by the Sindh government,” he added.
He further said that election of candidates unopposed proves that the people Hyderabad and other parts of Sindh repose their full confidence under the leadership of Quaid-e-Tehrik Mr. Altaf Hussain and at the same time they had send an open message to all that Hyderabad is the city of Altaf Hussain.
