MQMs resignations final, struggle for province to continue

MQMs resignations final, struggle for province to continue
 Posted on: 9/28/2015
Launching a scathing criticism of Pakistan Rangers, Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of Mutahidda Qoumi Movement (MQM) in an emergency address to the workers said that resignations tendered by the elected representatives of MQM would not be taken back.
The slogan for a new province became the popular demand of the people and MQM would continue its struggle for new province till carving out of a new unit, he said.
Visibly angered by the operation by Pakistan Rangers during three days of Eid-ul-Azha, he said that MQM was being prevented from its welfare activities and even not allowed to celebrate eid. From June 1978 till 2015, the 37 year long struggle by MQM saw martyrdom of thousands of workers and supporters, he said alleging that MQM always forgave the " Establishment " but it again and again targeted the Mohajirs. Preventing the MQM from collecting Fitra, Zakat and now hides of sacrificial animals was aimed at checking the welfare activities of the party benefitting thousands of the needy people.   The resignations by the MQM members were due to atrocities by the Rangers and we say with responsibility that Operation in Karachi is only against the MQM and Mohajirs. He asked the workers to prepare for a protest movement against arrests, killings of party men and said due to atrocities, people are demanding a separate province as they believe that their rights could be secured in a new province alone.
